Senior Estimator

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Project Manager to join our dynamic team.

CMD is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the estimating process—from initial take-off to final closeout. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience, existing relationships with general contractors and vendors, and a proven track record of independently closing complex bids.

• Lead the preparation of detailed, accurate electrical estimates for commercial, institutional, and government projects.
• Review and interpret plans, specifications, and RFP documents.
• Perform material and labor take-offs using digital tools (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam).
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes, maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and executive leadership to strategize bid approaches.
• Conduct value engineering and cost-saving analysis where applicable.
• Own and drive the entire estimating process, including bid review meetings, proposal generation, and final submission.
• Maintain historical cost data and update unit pricing regularly.
• Assist in post-bid negotiations and hand-off to project management.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial, institutional, and government projects.
• Deep knowledge of NEC, local codes, and standard estimating practices.
• Strong network of GC and vendor relationships in the Bay Area region.
• Proven ability to independently manage and close bids on multi-million dollar projects.
• Expertise in estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, or McCormick.
• Proficient in Bluebeam, Excel, and construction management platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented.
